I love my job.
I’m not an expert. There are no whisky experts, despite what some people may claim. The world of whisky is dynamic, constantly changing: they keep bringing out new stuff, and it’s impossible to drink it all. I have tried.
But after more than twenty years in the hospitality industry, I know a thing or two, and I’m great at cutting through the bullshit. I have certificates and everything. I specialize in bulldozing through the gatekeeping and helping people to enjoy their whisky without relying on pretension.
When I’m running a tasting, I can find the right dram for you. I’m great at gauging the whisky preferences of a group I only met ten minutes ago. Alternatively, if your budget’s tighter, I can set up a standard tasting session with some classic old favourites.
